Newcastle is one of the most vibrant, busiest cities in the UK, and as you can imagine, there are plenty of exciting things you can do in the Toon town, some of which we have outlined here.
To begin with, football is one of the biggest passions that Geordies have, especially when it comes to Newcastle United. With Newcastle back on the rise following their recent promotion to the Premier League, what better time to go along to a game at St. James’ Park and be a part of the ongoing Rafa Revolution by watching Newcastle square up to the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool? For lifelong footy fans, we can promise you that few matchday atmospheres compare to the St. James’ Park experience!
If football isn’t your thing, perhaps music and live entertainment will be, and on a grand scale too. If that’s the case, then the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena is the place to be! As one of England’s top cities, Newcastle’s leading arena attracts the biggest names, whether it be big-name music acts such as Little Mix, John Legend and UB40, or leading comedians such as John Bishop and Michael McIntyre, or family-friendly productions such as Disney On Ice or WWE wrestling. Bear in mind that new acts are always coming, and that certain shows return on an annual or bi-annual basis, so you’ll never run out of potential shows to attend. If you’re heading up to Newcastle, check out the arena listings and time your visit with a fantastic show!
For the more cultured visitors to the city, there’s plenty of exciting attractions to visit. The Angel Of The North is one of Britain’s most recognisable landmarks, the largest sculpture in the county, and one of Antony Gormley’s finest works. Newcastle also has its fair share of art galleries (in particular Laing Art Gallery) and museums (such as Great North Museum), and returning to the subject of shows, Theatre Royal Newcastle has a plethora of superb theatre productions, from local performances to big-name nationwide tours. Newcastle’s theatre is one of the top locations to watch a stage show, and it has plenty of history, having opened its doors way back in 1837!
Lastly, there’s the nightlife of course! As one of the United Kingdom’s most popular destinations for a fantastic night out, Newcastle offers a ton of different clubs catering to all sectors, sexes and genres, allowing you to enjoy anything from a quiet drink at a local pub to a wild session at a late-night club. Of course, chief amongst those is our own venue Geordie Crawl, where we can guarantee that you’ll have plenty of excitement as you soak up everything that the Newcastle nightlife has to offer and far more!
